Corona Virus Update — Company Hotline for COVID 19 is 877 342 3908

Today, it was reported that there were no new cases of exposure or contact to the Corona Virus. It was also reported that all employees previously on quarantine have been cleared and have returned to work.

The awards for payment of up to $500.00 are still on schedule for May 1st, 2020. Management has processed the appropriate forms and labor relations has reviewed them; Remember, the company stated that approximately 99% of the represented employees will get the full amount; other represented members who may have teleworked may get a prorated portion or may not be eligible if they have not been required to work on-site; they key is you had to work on site. The Union addressed your concerns regarding the $500.00 award and employees put on quarantine, the company hopes to respond within three days.

Masks – are available and employees are being urged to use them as required, the Company will be sending two cloth masks to each employee and so will Your Union – see the example below. We have heard that masks are not being used in some areas; Please protect yourselves and others and wear a mask.
Break Rooms it has been reported that some break rooms in SCF and SVL are having the chairs and tables arranged along CDC guidelines, more breakrooms shall follow – until then use common sense and use the 6ft rule, staggering breaks/lunches are also encouraged.
Air Showers – we reported last week that the Air Showers were off – we found out one was still in operation. As of this bulletin ALL air showers are now off.

Voluntary Infrared Sensor Testing – Beginning in Sunnyvale April 22, in B/157, the company will be testing IR thermometers on a voluntary basis for evaluation. This may lead to voluntary thermal testing at the gates if this program succeeds. LM released a memo yesterday, please review and pass along your comments to us.

Remember the following:
If you feel sick, stay home and call the hotline number above
Social distancing – keep at least 6 feet between you and others when possible including lunch & breaks
Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds
Try not to touch your face or your eyes
For those who are not sick and don’t feel comfortable at work, discuss this with your manager and take time off – using Unpaid, Paid Absence Leave or Vacation, if approved

The process for those who don’t feel well is to call the Hotline and discuss how you feel. If you are directed to self-quarantine, a notice will be sent to your manager and your labor relations business partner.

Your input has been valuable; please continue to pass it on to your stewards, Dimas Resendez, David Johnson, Kimberlee Hamilton Alarcon, Brian Babcock and Rod Thole. Bulletins will also be posted on LL2228 website www.iamll2228.org

Your Union and the Company are meeting daily, we started working on this issue early in March and are now starting to see results through action and education. We will all get through this together and be a stronger Union because of this.

Fraternally
